Yahoo! Blogs?
Interesting… both http://blog.yahoo.com and http://blogs.yahoo.com/ redirect to http://groups.yahoo.com (the significance is that they resolve and redirect in the first place). Also found this http://kr.blog.yahoo.com on a Korean website.
I wonder if the Korean blog site is a test for a more international version on Yahoo!?

This is just proof that the U.S. is quickly not going to be the center of the internet universe much longer. Korea has ubiquitous 24megabit internet for under $20 a month. Japan is not far behind. With broadband being ubiquitous in these countries the net becomes far far more useable for the average person and it’s a fertile environment for various net sevices that will not happen in the USA for a long time.

Japan has 26Mbps DSL now and more than half a million people on 100Mbps fiber to the home!

From what I see on the Korean site, the blogs they offer appear to have decent built-in features (automatic RSS feed generation, hit counter, etc.) but little personality. All the ones I clicked on looked essentially the same. For my money, TypePad looks more impressive (www.typepad.com).

Blimey. slashdotted. Wasn’t expecting that. Cheers guys!
I can’t believe Japan and Korea have such fast internet connections. Makes our 512K seem pretty meagre.
Personally I don’t have a particular response to the possibility of Yahoo! Blogs - on the one hand it’s adding countless more “today I watched…” blogs to the blogosphere, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing (for families contacting each other its great - I have more to discuss about this somewhere else perhaps). On the other hand it’s exposing blogging to a much larger, domestic audience, which increases awareness dramatically.
Anyway, thanks for the continued linkage and comments!
