Heh, I like the comment about smart-arse lifts (or elevators if you prefer) at the end of this article, that is definately technology we don’t need! But wasn’t the idea of talking lifts that pre-empt what floor you want to go to in one of the later ‘Hitch Hiker’s Guide’ books…?
